The Mowers By Sybil Andrews
Linocut (1937). Original size: 29.8 x 35.7cm. Three mowers planning to mow a meadow, each in the process of sharpening his scythe. The uniformity of movement and of pursuit is reminiscent of other of Andrews' linocuts, 'Bringing in the Boat', for instance , where there's a portrayal of several people engaged as a group, and engaged in one kind of pursuit. A bucolic, cheerful scene.
