Colour linocut 1950. This print was commissioned by James Laver, Keeper of Prints at the V&A, acting in adherence to a bequest given the museum by A. M. Shrimpton and William Giles who wanted to encourage the development of linocut print-making. Three other prints were also commissioned: Leon Underwood’s Spring; John Farleigh’s Summer, and Gertrude Hermes’ Winter.
