Cyril Power - Whence and Whither?
Linocut (1930). Printed from four blocks: Chinese Orange; Viridian; Permanent Blue; Dark Blue Printing Ink. Tottenham Court Road Station. The Underground – symbol of the new industrial age, is often portrayed by Power; and here rush-hour is depicted to great effect. It is, perhaps, no wonder that Power’s first title for this print – or title in prospect since it can be seen on some of the preparatory sketches for this work – was ‘Cascade’.
Size: Image 40cm x 31cm; incl. border: 61 x 53cm
Format: Giclée Print, Limited Edition (1/950) on 310 gsm thick, 100% cotton rag.
